Spring Equipment Preparation Tips

As winter fades and the ground begins to thaw, it's time to get your equipment ready for the busy spring season. Whether you're running a farm, maintaining a commercial property, or managing your own acreage, a little prep work now can save you costly downtime later.

Start by checking all fluid levels — engine oil, hydraulic fluid, coolant, and fuel filters. Replace any fluids that look dark or contaminated. Inspect belts and hoses for cracks, and replace worn parts before they fail in the field. Sharpen or replace mower blades, and check tire pressure on all equipment. For tractors, grease all zerks and test the PTO and three-point hitch.

Don't forget about your smaller equipment either. Trimmers, blowers, and chainsaws all benefit from fresh fuel, new spark plugs, and clean air filters. If you stored equipment with fuel in the tank, drain it and replace with fresh fuel. Stop by Weyers Equipment for all your spring maintenance needs — our parts and service departments are ready to help you get back to work.
